Korean War Memorial Plaque Dedication - August 31, 2006

The dedication of the Korean War Memorial Plaque took place at the State Fair Veterans Garden on August 31, 2006. The plaque was dedicated to the many men and women that served during the "forgotten war". The Korean War Plaque is the second of two war memorial plaques that have been dedicated in the State Fair Veterans Garden since its creation.

The first war memorial plaque was dedicated in 2005 and honored WWII veterans.

MDVA Commissioner, Clark Dyrud, was present for the dedication and offered brief remarks.

It was a beautiful day for a plaque dedication; over 60 people attended the event. Among those who attended was Abraham Zambrano, a 92 year old WWII veteran. Mr. Zambrano served in the Marine Corps and was present at Guadal Canal and Bogenville. Also present was Ed Valle; Mr. Valle is President of the Minnesota Korean War Vets.
