New Prague Memorial Park

The Memorial Park is located at 400 E Main St on the south side of Hwy 19. There is a captured howitzer, flag pole and veterans monument in the park. Information from the New Prague website:

"The American Legion erected a flag pole as the “starting point for more work in Americanization”. In 1926 the organization donated a captured German 105 Millimeter Howitzer which is still located at the south end of the park. The stones lining the entrance were first painted a "showy white" in 1928. Memorial Park became the hub of activity for years to come hosting band concerts, July 4th celebrations with annually constructed temporary dance floors, fireworks and athletic events."
