Chatfield Veteran Memorial

There is a monument erected in the Chatfield City Park that is dedicated to all veterans and is found on Highway 52, between Third and Fourth Streets.

The Chatfield Historical Society maintains a Veteran’s Museum in the lower level of the Chatfield Public Library building, which is also located on Highway 52, between Third and Fourth Streets. That museum contains artifacts, medals and uniforms of the brave men and women of Chatfield who fought to keep our country free. Of particular note is the display of Judson Wade Bishop, whose sword from the Civil War, photographs and other artifacts belonging to him. Bishop led a group of Chatfield men to the Civil War and retired as a General and played a pivotal role in southern battles.
