Buffalo Veteran Memorial

The City of Buffalo Veterans Memorial Park was established in the past few years, since 2000. It is located at 110 2nd Ave NE. The park was established to recognize veterans for service to their country. Additionally the park is a place to recognize community service organizations, and a place to reflect on the history of Buffalo.

It’s a beautiful memorial park on a hill overlooking Buffalo Lake. Memorial bricks have been sold to help pay for the costs of developing the park. The bricks may be in honor of veterans, or individuals that contributed to the community in other ways. There is a granite floor on the top with two pools of water with fountains, and a stone table with granite tablets engraved with the emblems of local service organizations. There are beautiful plantings along the retaining walls and walkways, and also a place where prairie plantings are being established to recognize how Buffalo appeared during earlier years, before it became a village and now a city.
