Anoka Veterans Memorial

The Veteran's Memorial is located at 611 Church Street in Anoka and each year the Anoka American Legion honors Veterans with a Memorial Day Celebration. The Memorial includes a statue of Marine Private First Class Richard K. Sorenson who was an Anoka resident and recipient of the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II. The memorial was first designed sometime in the 1960's and went through a re-design in the early 1990's.
