Veterans Day 2012
November 11 is Veterans Day, the national holiday dedicated to honoring all who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Veterans Day became an official observance in 1954. The holiday replaced Armistice Day, which commemorated the temporary end of hostilities during World War I. For a complete history of Veterans Day, visit www1.va.gov/opa/vetsday/vetdayhistory.asp.
