Historical information
Veterans and Community Housing: Cruse-Miller Garrison
Garrison: A permanent stronghold providing protection for it's troops.
Cruse-Miller: George Cruse was killed in action on the 2nd of May 1968 trying to save the life of Johnny Miller who was also killed that day. Johnny was trying to assist another wounded soldier at the time. They were common men doing their jobs, as they knew them.
They represent the goodness soldiers have toward others and their willingness to go into harms way so others may live in freedom and peace. Their honor is in their response to the call to serve America in Vietnam. I and Roger Starr were with George and John the day they were killed. We served in the 3rd platoon of Company C of the 3rd Battalion of the 21st Infantry of the 196th Light Infantry Brigade, American Division in the Republic of South Vietnam. I Corps. (Jimmie L.
