Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day 2009

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs and the Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad honored and remembered all those who died and survived the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Survivor Ed Wentzlaff of the USS Arizona will share his memories of the attack. A riffle volley honored all those who died. Refreshments was served.

USS Ward Forward Gun

The gun that started World War II is now stationed on the State Capitol Mall in St. Paul. This cannon fired the shot that hit the Japanese submarine off Pearl Harbor 65 years ago; the USS Ward Forward Gun is pictured above.
